Shocking Video: Driver Rams Into Haredi Protester in Jerusalem, Drags Him on Car
Had this happened at a Kaplan protest, would it be ignored? Outrage erupts after a horrifying hit-and-run attempt during a Haredi demonstration—caught on camera
A deeply disturbing video released today shows a driver accelerating into a group of Haredi protesters in Jerusalem on Wednesday night—striking one of them and dragging him on the hood of the vehicle for several hundred meters in a suspected intentional act.
The footage, filmed near the Chords Bridge during a demonstration by the Jerusalem Faction (HaPeleg), reveals a car revving aggressively toward the protesters before slamming into one of them. Despite screams from surrounding demonstrators, the driver does not stop.
The victim is seen clinging to the vehicle as the driver continues speeding toward the city entrance. After a harrowing ride, the young protester manages to leap off the car and is immediately treated by medics from United Hatzalah on the scene. He was later taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for a broken arm. A formal police complaint has been filed.
Eyewitnesses report that police were present in large numbers but failed to intervene. “It’s outrageous,” one community activist told JFeed. “If this had happened at a Kaplan protest, there would be national outrage. But when it's a Haredi protest, the rules apparently don’t apply.”
The video, which has already gone viral in Haredi circles, has reignited long-standing frustration over unequal treatment of religious demonstrators by law enforcement and media.
Israel Police has not yet released a statement in response to the incident. Once received, it will be published in full here on JFeed.
