Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shia Islamist militant group and political party backed by Iran, has been designated a terrorist organization by numerous countries including the US, Israel, the EU (military wing), and others.

Founded in the 1980s amid Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon, it has engaged in asymmetric warfare, global terrorism, and regional conflicts, often targeting civilians. While it provides social services in Lebanon and holds parliamentary seats, its armed wing is responsible for thousands of deaths through bombings, hijackings, assassinations, and rocket attacks. Below is a chronological list of some of its most notorious atrocities, drawn from documented reports. This is not exhaustive but highlights patterns of violence against military and civilian targets, including Israelis, Americans, Jews abroad, and others.

Note: Hezbollah often denies involvement, but evidence from investigations, courts, and intelligence links them to these acts.

1. July 19, 1982 – Kidnapping of David S. Dodge (Beirut, Lebanon): Hezbollah kidnapped the president of the American University of Beirut. He was held for over a year before release.

2. April 18, 1983 – Suicide Bombing of U.S. Embassy (Beirut, Lebanon): A truck bomb supplied by Iran killed 63 people, including 17 Americans and 32 Lebanese employees.

3. October 23, 1983 – Bombings of U.S. and French Marine Barracks (Beirut, Lebanon): Twin suicide truck bombings killed 241 U.S. service members and 58 French paratroopers, plus 6 Lebanese civilians. Widely attributed to Hezbollah precursors under Iranian direction.

4. March 16, 1984 – Kidnapping and Murder of William Buckley (Beirut, Lebanon): CIA station chief abducted, tortured, and killed after 15 months in captivity.

5. April 12, 1984 – Restaurant Bombing near U.S. Air Force Base (Torrejon, Spain): Car bomb killed 18 U.S. servicemen and injured 83 others.

6. September 20, 1984 – Bombing of U.S. Embassy Annex (Beirut, Lebanon): Truck bomb killed 24 people, including 2 U.S. military personnel.

7. December 4, 1984 – Hijacking of Kuwait Airlines Flight (Tehran, Iran diversion): Hijackers killed 2 American passengers; demands included release of Shia prisoners.

8. June 14, 1985 – Hijacking of TWA Flight 847 (Athens to Rome): Hijackers murdered U.S. Navy diver Robert Stethem and held hostages for 17 days, demanding release of Shia prisoners from Israel.

9. December 31, 1985 – Abduction and Murder of Three Lebanese Jews (Beirut, Lebanon): Under alias "Organization of the Oppressed on Earth," Hezbollah kidnapped and killed the victims.

10. February 17, 1988 – Kidnapping and Murder of Lt. Col. William Higgins (South Lebanon): U.S. Marine UN observer abducted, tortured, and hanged; video released in 1989.

11. February 1988 – Murder of Saudi Diplomat (Bangkok, Thailand)*: Assassination of a Saudi third secretary.

12. February 1990 – Murder of Ehud Sadan (Ankara, Turkey): Israeli Embassy security chief killed in a bombing that injured two Turkish bystanders.

13. March 17, 1992 – Bombing of Israeli Embassy (Buenos Aires, Argentina): Suicide bombing killed 29 people and injured over 240.

14. January 28, 1993 – Attempted Assassination of Jak Kamhi (Istanbul, Turkey): Failed attack on head of Turkish Jewish community.

15. July 18, 1994 – Failed Car Bomb at Israeli Embassy (Bangkok, Thailand): Plot thwarted.

16. July 18, 1994 – AMIA Jewish Center Bombing (Buenos Aires, Argentina): Truck bomb killed 85 people and injured hundreds; Iran's involvement confirmed by courts.

17. February 14, 2005 – Assassination of Rafik Hariri (Beirut, Lebanon): Car bomb killed former Lebanese PM and 21 others; UN tribunal convicted three Hezbollah members in 2020.

18. July-August 2006 – Second Lebanon War: Hezbollah fired thousands of rockets into Israel, killing 43 civilians and 12 soldiers; cross-border raid killed 8 IDF soldiers and kidnapped 2 (bodies returned in 2008).

19. July 18, 2012 – Burgas Bus Bombing (Bulgaria): Suicide attack on Israeli tourists killed 5 Israelis and 1 Bulgarian, injuring 32; EU blamed Hezbollah.

20. 2011-2018 – Involvement in Syrian Civil War: Supported Assad regime; accused of massacres, sieges (e.g., Madaya starvation), and chemical attacks complicity; thousands of civilian deaths attributed.

21. October 8, 2023 – July 28, 2024 – Rocket and Drone Attacks on Israel (Northern Border): Over 6,000 missiles/rockets and hundreds of drones fired; killed 18, injured hundreds, displaced 60,000 civilians.

22. July 27, 2024 - Murdered 12 Druze children in Majdal Shams rocket strike

These acts have killed thousands globally, often with Iranian support. Hezbollah's arsenal (150,000+ rockets) and tactics continue to threaten stability. For context, some sources note Hezbollah's denials and claims of defensive actions, but international courts and designations affirm their terrorist status.

Israel had finally had enough of the murderous terror proxy and put a surgical plan in place to cripple its members. As Israel always does, it included steps and measures to limit any civilian casualties.

When Hezbollah got close to discovering the truth about the beeper op, Israel decided the time had come.

Only Hezbollah members had access to those pagers, unless their family members got hold of them, which was never part of the plan.

Hezbollah beepers exploded all over Lebanon. Hezbollah (and Iran) were totally hysterical. To this, day the movement has not recovered. Many of its members are blind, disabled, missing limbs or fingers and/ disfigured.

AP wants you to feel sorry for them.

Read the list above and don't.
