Israel’s Foreign Ministry issued an urgent travel advisory today, urging Israelis to avoid the Thailand-Cambodia border amid escalating military clashes, reports *Walla*’s Naomi Rachlis. The warning focuses on northeastern Thailand and northwestern Cambodia, particularly near closed border crossings, following heavy exchanges of fire, civilian deaths—including an eight-year-old child—and a Thai F-16 airstrike inside Cambodian territory. Travelers are advised to monitor local media and follow security directives.

The conflict flared at the Ta Muean Thom temple area, a flashpoint in a century-long border dispute over an 817-kilometer frontier. Thailand accuses Cambodia of laying new landmines, which injured two Thai soldiers last week, while Cambodia condemns Thailand’s “brutal and dangerous” airstrike that hit civilian areas, including roads and homes, killing at least nine. Both sides have expelled diplomats, with Thailand recalling its ambassador from Phnom Penh and expelling Cambodia’s representative from Bangkok. Heavy artillery, rocket fire, and attacks on civilian homes and a Thai hospital have caused widespread injuries and damage. Thailand deployed six F-16s, one of which destroyed a Cambodian military target, while Cambodia decries the strikes as unjustified.
