The Trump administration has ordered an immediate halt to issuing visas for anyone holding a Palestinian passport, a dramatic step that comes just days after the decision to bar senior PLO officials, including Mahmoud Abbas himself from entering into the United States.
The sweeping restriction means not only political leaders but also Palestinians seeking to study at American universities, patients, and families trying to visit relatives will now find the door shut.
According to the New York Times, the State Department has instructed American diplomats to enforce the new directive, though it clarified that existing visas would not be revoked.
