Assassination Plot Against Netanyahu: Woman Indicted in Shocking Case
79-year-old protest activist Tamar Fruma Gershoni allegedly sought to obtain an RPG or explosive device to kill the Israeli prime minister; reported to the Shin Bet by fellow protest leader Gonen Ben Yitzhak

It can now be revealed that the 74-year-old woman charged with planning the assassination of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is Tamar Fruma Gershoni, a veteran protester and activist. According to the indictment, Gershoni allegedly planned to carry out the assassination using either an RPG missile or an explosive device she sought to acquire.
Notably, the person who reported her to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) was attorney Gonen Ben Yitzhak - a former Shin Bet operative and a prominent anti-Netanyahu protest leader. Ben Yitzhak became aware of Gershoni’s intentions through conversations in protest circles. After she allegedly continued speaking about the plan despite warnings from fellow activists, Ben Yitzhak decided to notify security authorities.
According to the indictment, Gershoni expressed a clear desire to assassinate the prime minister and sought to obtain heavy weaponry to carry out the act.
In a separate incitement-related incident, police last month detained a central Israel resident for questioning on suspicion of threatening Eyal Eshel - the father of IDF spotter Roni Eshel, who was killed in the October 7 massacre.
The threat, posted on the social media platform X, read: “We will settle accounts with you. Personally,” and included an image of a firearm. Following Eshel’s complaint to the Taybeh police station, an expedited investigation was launched, and the suspect was placed under five days of house arrest.
