A senior Hatzalah paramedic was assaulted last night (Wednesday), while treating patients at a motor vehicle accident in Loch Sheldrake, New York, in an incident marked by antisemitic slurs. According to *Catskill Scoop* and *The Yeshiva World*, the assailant, an occupant of one of the vehicles, hurled antisemitic insults at the other driver and Hatzalah personnel before striking the paramedic in the face without warning.

The paramedic sustained no serious injuries, and local police quickly took the suspect into custody. The incident, occurring in a Sullivan County community with a significant Jewish population, adds to concerns over rising antisemitic violence in the U.S., particularly since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023. Further details on the suspect’s identity and potential charges are pending.
