Corinne Gideon Opens Up on Life in Her Husband’s Haredi Household
Israeli TV personality Corinne Gideon shares her journey into religious life after marrying into a prominent Haredi family, discussing her voluntary embrace of Jewish traditions.

Israeli television personality Corinne Gideon opened up this week about her journey into religious life since marrying businessman Chili Surazkin, a member of a prominent Haredi family from Telz Stone.
Gideon described the warm welcome she received from her in-laws:
“Chili’s family is amazing. They made me feel like their daughter. I call his parents Abu and Mami. My sisters-in-law introduced me to what they call ‘dos chic,’ and I consult with them about everything. I really feel like I gained sisters.”
Gideon also recalled, with humor, her very first Shabbat at her husband’s family home.
“I opened the tap in the kitchen and went back to the table shaking,” she said. “I thought it was like turning on electricity and that I had desecrated Shabbat.”
The Jewish Blender: Corinne Gideon as a Modern Mix
Every Jew is a unique world by himself. Judaism has a open door for reflection and exploration of identity, as a religion which believes in the power of knowledge and, therefore, on the power of the questions. In a society moved by influence, Corinne Gideon has changed from public influential personality, to a mirror of the Jewish mix.
Corinne Gideon is a prominent Israeli television host and personality, recognized for her engaging presence on various entertainment platforms. She gained significant attention as a co-host on the Israeli version of Big Brother during its seventh season in 2015, alongside veteran host Erez Tal. Additionally, she co-hosted 2025, a reality show produced by Yoram Zak, marking another milestone in her television career. And now comes the plot-twist: would someone belive that a woman like her would join secular life and Jewish Orthodox practices? Maybe not, but that's exacly what she did!
In 2023, Corinne married Chili Soratzkin, a businessman from a prominent Haredi family in Telz Stone. This union has brought her closer to religious traditions, and she has openly discussed her experiences navigating this new lifestyle. Today, she has shared personal anecdotes on social media, highlighting her journey of adaptation and learning within the Jewish Orthodox world.
Changing from Inside Out
Reflecting on her own religious growth, Gideon emphasized that the steps she has taken came from her own initiative:
“Everything I chose, making our home kosher, disconnecting from my phone on Shabbat, happened without Chili ever asking. These are things I wanted for myself. Every relationship has differences and gaps that require compromise, that’s how I see it.”
Chili Soratzkin, Corinne's husband, is an Israeli businessman who hails from a prominent Haredi family in Telz-Stone, a community established by the Telzer Yeshiva in Israel. His father, Rabbi Baruch Sorotzkin, was a well-known Torah scholar and leader in the Haredi community. Today, Chili combines his religious roots with modern life.
Together, the couple lives a mixed life, keeping kashrut and shabbat, but blending completely into the modern dynamic life of Tel Aviv. They have co-founded "Soratzkin Deli," a kosher Jewish deli in Tel Aviv, further bridging their cultural and religious worlds.
Corinne Gideon is a reflex of Israeli society, integrating information and entertainment in the same place.
