The production of the hit Israeli series Fauda has announced a last-minute change to its fifth season’s European filming plans following security concerns. Originally scheduled to shoot in Marseille, France, the production team has moved the location to Budapest, Hungary.

According to reports, the decision was made after authorities determined that the necessary security measures for an international production of this scale could not be guaranteed in Marseille. Moving the shoot to Budapest allows the production to maintain its planned schedule without significant delays.

The fifth season had previously been slated to feature parts filmed in France, aiming to add an international dimension to the series. French actress Mélanie Laurent, known for her role in Inglourious Basterds, was among the notable additions to the cast, intended to broaden the show’s appeal.

Despite these plans, the production prioritized the safety of cast and crew. Budapest reportedly offers a site that meets both logistical and security requirements, ensuring the series can continue filming smoothly in the coming weeks.

The production change underscores the complex challenges of filming internationally amid heightened security concerns, even for globally recognized series like Fauda.
