Watch: IDF Chief’s Bold Plea in Gaza “I Call on Everyone to Enlist"
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir toured Gaza, praising reservists and urging all Israelis to share the burden of national defense equally in a multi-front war.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted a field tour in the Gaza Strip alongside Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, Operations Directorate head Maj. Gen. Itzik Cohen, Gaza Division commander Brig. Gen. Barak Hiram, and commanders of the Etzioni reservist brigade and Southern Brigade. The visit focused on recent operations, particularly those of the Etzioni Brigade, whose reservists’ call-up was extended due to ongoing combat needs. Zamir praised their efforts, stating, “In the face of challenges across all fronts, we cannot accept a situation where not all parts of society share the burden. Israel’s security demands full partnership from all segments of the nation. This is a civic duty and a national imperative.” He urged, “I call on everyone to enlist and contribute equally, this is the call of the hour, and we must all answer it.
Zamir emphasized the IDF’s multi-front campaign, saying, “We are engaged in a multi-arena war, operating with full force across all fronts. Some arenas we’ve already addressed, and we’re prepared to act again if needed.” He highlighted the focus on Gaza City, noting, “Our main effort now is deepening operations in Gaza City, continuing tactical moves on the ground. We are committed to bringing back the hostages, defeating Hamas, and ensuring an event like October 7 never happens again.”
Addressing reservists, he added, “Thanks to reservists, Israel stands tall against any enemy, your sacrifice inspires us all. Regular soldiers, career officers, and tens of thousands of reservists, along with their families, sacrifice their personal lives for the nation’s security. You embody the deepest expression of Israeli solidarity and commitment to the country’s future.” Zamir pledged to reduce reservist strain, recognizing them as “a precious national resource.” The tour follows intensified Gaza operations, with over 4,000 Hamas targets struck in 2025 alone, per IDF data, amid ongoing efforts to dismantle terror infrastructure and secure the release of 20 remaining hostages.
