Israel Confirms: "We're Preparing for Another Round With Iran"
A senior officer emphasizes that although the severe scenarios against Iran have not materialized so far, the IDF is preparing for another round and heightened alert "beyond routine."

Even at the present time, while the IDF operates simultaneously in Nablus and the Gaza Strip, Israel is preparing for another round with Iran, which is no longer a question of "if" but "when."
The one confirming these statements publicly is Brigadier General Shlomi, commander of the Home Front Command's rescue brigade. In an interview with the ynet website, he said that "although the horror scenarios were not realized, we are preparing these days for another round with Iran."
Regarding the timing of when another round against Iran will open, he said: "It can always come as a surprise, we are in heightened alert, beyond routine."
Earlier this morning it was reported that Iran is working to restore its security system following the Israeli victory, focusing mainly on renewing air defense systems and missiles. According to a column by Nadav Eyal in "Yedioth Ahronoth," Israel assessed that after the Iranian attack failed embarrassingly, Tehran is striving to obtain advanced air defense systems.
Israel is watching with concern Iran's attempts to rearm. According to Western intelligence sources, Iran is maintaining significant contacts with China, involved in attempts to restore surface-to-surface missile capabilities. Unlike in the nuclear field, on this issue Iran is not a signatory to any international treaty, which allows it to maintain a significant strategic threat against Israel.
Israeli officials, who responded to the statements in "Yedioth Ahronoth," noted that "Chinese intentions are not entirely clear so far." They added that Israel has conveyed clear messages to Beijing, and China does not confirm that it is about to assist Iran on this matter. Nevertheless, the issue is very troubling among security officials and could have broad strategic implications.
