Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups released this statement today (Thursday) regarding a possible ceasefire:

"Our steadfast and resilient Palestinian people.

"A number of leaders of Palestinian national and Islamic forces convened in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to discuss the comprehensive political and territorial developments, particularly those related to the war of extermination and starvation that the Zionist enemy is waging against our people in the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the efforts being made to stop this ongoing aggression, which has led to a massacre against our people, extensive destruction of infrastructure, and deliberate attacks on homes, hospitals, and civilian facilities, in blatant violation of all international laws and norms.

"In light of the in-depth discussions that continued for several hours, the participants concluded the following:

"We express our full appreciation and praise for our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their courageous resistance, which have set an unprecedented example in confronting the most brutal and savage aggression against the region and the entire Arab world. Our people have demonstrated exceptional capacity for patience, sacrifice, devotion, and redemption, and their legendary steadfastness against the most violent war machine known in modern history. In this context, the factions promise our people that they will not cease their tireless efforts to stop the aggression and criminal war against our people.

"The forces and factions confirm that the top priority at this stage is an immediate and comprehensive cessation of aggression, lifting the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, and ensuring immediate, safe, and uninterrupted entry of humanitarian aid and assistance. They emphasize their full response to initiatives and proposals for solutions that meet our national demands, including ending the aggression, withdrawal of occupation forces, and lifting the unjust siege. We appreciate the great efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian cause, in their efforts to end our people's suffering from hunger, and in providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, contributing to alleviating our people's suffering. We also appreciate their efforts to achieve Palestinian national unity and their direct involvement in indirect negotiations, in coordination and partnership with our brothers in the sister state of Qatar, under the leadership of His Highness Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to stop the aggression against our people.

"The attendees addressed the enemy's plans to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and attempt to uproot our people, or a large part of them, under various pretexts, such as imposing control over the Strip or similar labels that do not reflect the true nature of the crimes against law and humanity they are committing. They emphasized the need to confront these plans and invest all efforts to stop them immediately.

"The efforts to stop this ongoing barbaric aggression were discussed in light of the obstructive Zionist positions and contradictory reports spread by the enemy regarding its positions in these efforts. The latest of these was the unjustified withdrawal from negotiations in Doha after indirect negotiations had almost reached a serious agreement.

"The Palestinian forces and factions warn against the Zionist Judaization plan in the occupied West Bank, which seeks to impose absolute control, uproot residents, confiscate lands, and integrate millions of settlers in a gradual settlement plan. The occupation's crimes include quiet displacement, land confiscation, desecration of holy sites, and temporal and spatial division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The forces emphasize the need to develop urgent national plans to confront this project, protect the Palestinian and Arab presence, and thwart colonialist plans.

"Confronting the Zionist plans in the West Bank and Gaza requires building genuine and serious national unity. In this context, we call on our sister country, Egypt, to support and host an emergency national conference of all Palestinian forces and factions, with the aim of agreeing on a national strategy and practical plan to confront the occupation's plans, stop the genocide, and achieve our people's goals and national aspirations, particularly restoring our national unity and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

"To emphasize that what is called the "Greater Israel vision," which enemy Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed, is a Zionist expansion project that threatens Arab national security and the rights of the Palestinian people. It is particularly directed at Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon, and requires concentrated Arab efforts to thwart it and defend the nation.

"The attendees praised the international movement supporting the Palestinian people, which confirms the isolation of the Zionist entity except for extremists who provide it with political cover and logistical support to continue this insane war. The forces and factions call on our Arab brothers and friends around the world, UN organizations, and human rights institutions to bear their historical and legal responsibility toward our Palestinian people, and to exert serious pressure on the occupation to immediately stop its crimes and demand accountability for its ongoing violations.

"In conclusion, the Palestinian forces and factions confirm that they will continue to make every effort to end our people's suffering and stop the genocidal war. They also express their respect and admiration for our people's firm steadfastness and persistence and their adherence to their land and inalienable rights.
