Gaza Conquest? Netanyahu Convenes Special Consultation
The Prime Minister convened a special security discussion, in which despite rumors of tension in relations, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir was also present, ahead of the possibility of advancing war plans.

Parallel to a series of reports about severe tension in relations between the political echelon and military command, against the backdrop of the Prime Minister's demand for a full conquest of Gaza, Netanyahu convened a special consultation with Chief of Staff Zamir and Defense Minister Katz.
According to reports, the Prime Minister is currently holding a special security consultation in a restricted forum. Despite reports of "tension" between the Prime Minister and military command, Chief of Staff Zamir arrived at the meeting.
The Prime Minister is currently in consultations with senior security officials, this after it was reported that in his office "the die was cast" on proceeding with a full conquest of the Strip, something that according to reports stands in opposition to the war plans that Zamir is promoting.
In recent days, significant disagreements have been reported between the security echelons and the political echelon, with it even being reported that if the war plans that Netanyahu is promoting are advanced, the Chief of Staff himself might resign in protest. However, sources behind the scenes deny this and believe that ultimately the Chief of Staff will carry out what is assigned to him by the government.
This meeting has significant potential to shed light on the next steps of both sides.
The Prime Minister's Office just released this statement:
"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a restricted security discussion today that lasted about 3 hours, in which the Chief of Staff presented the options for continuing the campaign in Gaza.
"The IDF is prepared to implement any decision that will be made by the political-security cabinet."
