Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House in early July 2025, potentially next week, to celebrate their joint success in Operation Rising Lion and address pressing regional issues. “There is a mutual interest from both sides of doing a victory party after the war with Iran,” an Israeli official noted, following the June 24, 2025, ceasefire that halted the 12-day conflict with Iran.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Netanyahu’s interest and Trump’s openness to the visit, though a final date remains pending. Netanyahu announced, “I’m expected to travel to the United States next week for meetings with US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the President’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, and the Secretary of Commerce,” during a cabinet meeting. The talks, following Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer’s preparatory visit to Washington, will focus on Gaza, Iran, and expanding the Abraham Accords.

The ceasefire with Iran, which Trump hailed on Truth Social, stating, “Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’” has opened “broad regional possibilities,” according to Netanyahu. He emphasized the success of Operation Rising Lion, which targeted Iran’s nuclear sites, at a government meeting: “These (meetings) come in the wake of the great victory that we achieved in Operation Rising Lion.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog described “a very close and intimate dialogue” between Trump and Netanyahu, underscoring their coordination. National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi confirmed daily direct contact with Syria’s new leadership under Ahmad al-Sharaa, exploring normalization, with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar adding, “There is absolutely an aspiration to expand the Abraham Accords, and it’s no secret that we want to see Syria in this.” However, Sa’ar firmly stated, “We will not withdraw from the Syrian Hermon, nor from the Golan Heights,” despite potential deals. Trump’s push for a Gaza ceasefire, aiming to end the 20-month war with Hamas and secure hostage releases, will also be central, though far-right Israeli coalition members resist ending the conflict.
