Although Israel and the United States are close to finalizing a proposal for a ceasefire in the north, there is no guarantee that Hezbollah or Lebanon will agree to a deal, according to Kann News.

The agreement, per which the Lebanese Army will be solely responsible for ensuring weapons do not end up in the hands of Hezbollah and other armed groups and the IDF responsible for retaliating for any violation, is set to be presented to the Lebanese soon by US Envoy Amos Hochstein.

Diplomats familiar with the negotiations told Kann last week that regardless of Donald Trump's re-election, an agreement is likely set to be reached within weeks.
