A disturbing incident unfolded Tuesday afternoon when a grenade, accompanied by flowers and a "congratulations" message containing a threat, was discovered at the entrance to the home of Amit Sofer, head of the Merom HaGalil Regional Council. The object was found in the Bar Yochai settlement, within the council’s jurisdiction in northern Israel.

The Merom HaGalil Regional Council confirmed the discovery, noting that the motive remains unclear. Israel Police swiftly responded, deploying officers and bomb disposal experts from the Northern District to the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether the object is indeed an active explosive.

Authorities have not released additional details, and the council promised updates as the situation develops.
