Considering that Israel is still reeling from Hamas' devastating onslaught, his words came across as totally tone deaf.

In a passionate address, an Israeli minister claimed that the tragic events of October 7, 2023, paradoxically “saved the people of Israel,” aligning with the prophecy of Isaiah: “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will gather you.” Speaking to Channel 12 News, the minister argued that the Hamas attack, led by Yahya Sinwar, was a catastrophic miscalculation that exposed Iran’s broader strategy and set the stage for Israel’s unprecedented regional dominance.

“October 7 was our moment of abandonment, but with great mercy, God delivered us,” the minister said. “Sinwar, that vile monster, acted alone without coordinating with Iran or Hezbollah, opening the door for us.” The attack revealed Iran as the puppet master behind Hamas, Hezbollah, and other proxies, which Israel has since dismantled. “Iran lost its proxies, Hezbollah, Syria’s Assad, leaving them exposed,” he added, noting that Iran’s rush toward nuclear weapons in recent months triggered an urgent response.

The minister credited a “divine miracle” in the election of President Donald Trump, whose authorization of the June 22, 2025, U.S. strike on Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility, combined with Israel’s relentless campaign, crippled Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. “Without October 7, without Trump, without Netanyahu, we wouldn’t be here,” he said, praising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s singular focus on the Iranian threat. “I sometimes thought he was exaggerating, but he was laser-focused, pushing the IDF and Mossad daily.”

For months, Netanyahu led secretive planning sessions with a tight-knit cabinet, maintaining absolute discretion. “No leaks, not to wives, families, no one,” the minister emphasized. “We sat for hours, three or four times a week, planning this operation. Netanyahu never accepted ‘impossible.’ When one window closed, he opened a door.” Even amid personal legal challenges, including court appearances, Netanyahu prioritized the mission, working late into the night. “He’d return from eight-hour hearings and dive back into saving Israel,” the minister said. “This is his greatness, his mission.”

The minister framed the current conflict as a historic turning point, with Israel poised to secure its future as a regional superpower, potentially paving the way for peace under the Abraham Accords. “This is our moment of destiny,” he concluded, urging Israelis to recognize the divine hand guiding their survival and triumph.
