On June 13, 2025, Israel’s Mossad executed a stunning operation during the opening of the Twelve-Day War, delivering a devastating blow to Iran’s military leadership and setting back its nuclear ambitions by years. The operation, with new details released today, by the Saudi-funded opposition outlet Iran International, revealed how the Mossad used a double agent and cutting-edge technology to orchestrate the simultaneous assassination of multiple senior Iranian officials. The strike targeted key figures, including Hossein Salami, commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, responsible for overseeing Iran’s military operations across land, air, sea, and other critical units in the Middle East.

A double agent close to Salami fed him false intelligence about an impending Israeli attack, luring him to a specific location. The Mossad ensured other high-ranking officials were summoned to the same meeting, believing the information was credible. A single precision missile strike obliterated the gathering, killing Salami and others in one blow. Days later, the Mossad eliminated Ali Shadmani, who replaced Gholam Ali Rashid as head of Iran’s central military headquarters after Rashid’s earlier assassination. To locate Shadmani, the Mossad employed a sophisticated operation involving DNA sampling, AI-powered facial recognition, and genetic profiling. By hacking Tehran’s urban security cameras and deploying malicious software, the Mossad pinpointed Shadmani in Zaferaniyeh on June 27, 2025, where he was killed by a drone strike.

The operation, part of Israel’s broader “Operation Rising Lion,” also saw the destruction of nuclear facilities and missile stockpiles, with over 200 launchers neutralized. Israel’s air superiority enabled precise strikes, while the Mossad’s covert units deployed precision-guided munitions inside Iran. The war, ending June 24, 2025, with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, saw Iran launch over 550 ballistic missiles, killing 30 Israeli civilians. The Mossad’s actions, described as “unprecedented” on X, showcased Israel’s intelligence prowess, leaving Iran’s regime reeling from the loss of its command structure.
