Toddler in Serious Condition After Ingesting Ecstasy at a Park
A moment of innocent play turned into a life-threatening emergency when how a toddler found a stranger’s discarded drugs.

A two-year-old boy was rushed to Schneider Children’s Medical Center over the weekend after accidentally drinking from a discarded bottle containing the drug ecstasy (MDMA) in a public park. The child was initially listed in serious condition but has since stabilized following intensive treatment, according to Israel Hayom.
According to initial reports, the toddler was playing with his older brother in a neighborhood park when he discovered the bottle, picked it up, and drank from it. Shortly thereafter, his condition began to deteriorate. His parents immediately brought him to the hospital, alerting doctors that he may have ingested something toxic.
Medical staff at Schneider confirmed that the bottle contained a potent dose of ecstasy, a psychoactive stimulant. Dr. Nir Samuel, a senior physician in the hospital’s emergency department, described the child’s condition upon arrival as life-threatening: “He showed signs of severe stimulant poisoning, extreme agitation, rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, and high fever. After rapid evaluation and stabilization, he was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit and monitored closely throughout the weekend.”
While ecstasy use among adults is already considered dangerous, even trace amounts of the drug can be lethal for children. Authorities believe the bottle was left behind by a drug user and have opened an investigation.
Medical professionals are urging parents to be vigilant in public spaces and calling on municipalities to ensure better park safety to prevent similar incidents.
