In a landmark report released today, a United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, fulfilling four of the five acts defined under the 1948 Genocide Convention. The 72-page document, chaired by former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, details a pattern of mass killings, serious harm to civilians, deliberately imposed life-threatening conditions like starvation through aid blockades, and systematic attacks on healthcare facilities since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023.

The commission's findings, based on investigations spanning from October 7, 2023, to July 31, 2025, emphasize that these acts were carried out with "specific intent to destroy the Palestinian group in Gaza." Pillay, a South African judge who previously presided over the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, highlighted statements from high-level Israeli officials as evidence of genocidal intent. For instance, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referenced a "holy war of total annihilation" in a letter to soldiers, while former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant described Palestinians as "human animals" and imposed a total siege on Gaza shortly after the October 7 Hamas attacks. President Isaac Herzog was also cited for statements implying collective responsibility of Palestinians for the attacks that killed around 1,200 Israelis and took over 250 hostages.

"The responsibility for these atrocity crimes lies with Israeli authorities at the highest echelons who have orchestrated a genocidal campaign for almost two years now," Pillay stated during a press briefing in Geneva.

The report notes that Israel has failed to investigate or prosecute these incitements, and it accuses the state of disregarding International Court of Justice (ICJ) provisional measures ordering aid access and protection of civilians. The commission urges all UN member states to act immediately to prevent further acts, including through sanctions, arms embargoes, and support for International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutions.

Let's not forget why South Africa went to the ICC in the first place. Why yes, it was money from Iran that it needed to dig itself out of a self-made crisis.

In fact, Israel has lost hundreds of soldiers trying not to kill uninvolved Gazans (if that even exists). It has spent its own money bringing and dropping flyers all over Gaza, begging the residents to relocate so that they are not harmed. It has allocated some $473 million to paying for humanitarian aid.

It has got its officers calling Gazans asking them to leave and telling them where the safe zones are.

We didn't want this war, we didnt choose it. But the world doesn't care. As Netanyahu told Konstantin Kristin on Triggernometry, "If we wanted to commit Genocide, we could do it in an afternoon." But the Gazan population is actually growing, despite the 'blockade' and supposed starvation.

Israel swiftly rejected the conclusions as "scandalous" and "fake," accusing the commission of anti-Israel bias and relying on unverified Hamas sources.

Israeli officials maintain that operations in Gaza are lawful self-defense against Hamas, aimed at dismantling the group's military capabilities and securing hostages, with efforts made to minimize civilian harm. Pro-Israel voices on X echoed this, labeling the UN body as inherently prejudiced and arguing that the genocide criteria would implicate most modern conflicts.

The U.S., Israel's primary ally, has not yet issued an official response, though Senator Marco Rubio previously affirmed continued military aid. Critics, including the commission, warn that ongoing arms supplies from Western nations risk complicity in genocide under international law.

This UN inquiry, established by the Human Rights Council in 2021, lacks enforcement powers but carries significant legal weight, potentially influencing ICJ and ICC proceedings. Pillay stressed that "the international community cannot stay silent," warning that inaction erodes global credibility and the post-World War II pledge of "never again." What about the 1200 innocent Israeli civilians massacred, burned to death, raped and mutilated on October 7th?

Well, those are 'just Jews' so we don't have to worry about them. The disgraceful double standard is nauseating.
