Six Killed in Mass Shooting at Bangkok’s Or Tor Kor Market | WATCH
We will provide updates as they become available.

A gunman opened fire at Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district today, killing four people and injuring three before taking his own life, Thai police confirmed. The attack, which occurred around noon near the Bang Sue police station, sent panic through the popular fresh food market known for its high-quality produce and tourist crowds.
According to the Erawan Emergency Medical Centre, the victims included three security guards and one female vendor. The suspect, identified by local media as a 61-year-old man named Mr. Noi, was a former colleague of the guards. CCTV footage, reported by Matichon, showed him wearing a black T-shirt, cream shorts, and a camouflage backpack worn on his front. He shot the guards at close range and chased the vendor, who pleaded, “Please don’t hurt me, I don’t know anything,” before he killed her behind a seafood stall. The gunman then sat on a market bench and shot himself.
Deputy Police Chief Worapat Sukthai of Bangkok’s Bang Sue district told AFP the motive is under investigation, with police exploring possible links to recent Thailand-Cambodia border clashes, though no connection has been confirmed. The attack took place in the market’s fresh food zone near the “Kan Jom Phalang” donation point, causing shoppers and vendors to flee in chaos.
Thai PBS and Thai Enquirer reported four victims dead plus the gunman, aligning with police accounts, though some outlets, including Reuters and The Independent, cited six deaths, including the suspect. The discrepancy remains unclarified. Authorities have cordoned off the market and are reviewing surveillance footage to establish a timeline.
Or Tor Kor, a clean and upscale market near the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, is a staple for locals and tourists seeking premium Thai produce and street food. Mass shootings are not uncommon in Thailand due to lax gun control, but this incident has shaken a typically vibrant destination. Police urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
