At least 20 dead and 100 injured after Bangladeshi Fighter Jet Crashes Into Dhaka School | WATCH
A military training sortie ends in disaster as a fighter jet slams into a Dhaka school, injuring children.

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area, specifically the Diabari campus, around 1:06 PM local time. The jet, used for advanced pilot training, went down shortly after takeoff, striking the roof of the school’s canteen and causing a fire. At least two people were killed, and several others, including six to seven students with burn injuries, were reported injured. The exact number of casualties remains unclear as rescue operations continue.
Emergency response teams, including Bangladesh Army personnel, Fire Service, and Civil Defence, are working to extinguish the flames and rescue victims. Videos and images shared on social media show thick smoke and flames at the crash site, with army personnel carrying injured students to safety. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the aircraft was an F-7 BGI, piloted by Flight Lieutenant Taukir Islam Sagar, though his condition has not been disclosed. There are no reports of the pilot ejecting, suggesting an attempt to avoid civilian areas.
The crash occurred in a building used for classes, primarily for young children from playgroup age onward, just as students were leaving after classes ended. Two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed to assist with rescue and maintain order. The cause of the crash is under investigation, with no official details released yet
This is a developing story, and further details are expected as rescue efforts and investigations proceed.
