“Bibi’s Acting Crazy, Bombing Everything, Like a Child": Trump Team Slams Israel Strike

Senior American officials are sharply criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent actions in Syria, warning that his aggressive approach may undermine President Trump’s broader regional strategy. The comments come just days after a high-profile and seemingly successful visit by Netanyahu to the White House.

In a report aired Sunday on Channel 12 News by diplomatic correspondent Barak Ravid, six senior U.S. officials expressed concern over Israel’s military conduct in southern Syria in recent days. One senior White House figure reportedly stated:

“He’s acting like a lunatic, bombing anything that moves, all the time. It could jeopardize what Trump is trying to achieve in the region, especially in Syria.”

Another official described Netanyahu’s behavior as reckless and impulsive:

“Sometimes Bibi acts like a child. He simply doesn’t know how to behave,” the source was quoted as saying.

These pointed remarks come on the heels of Netanyahu’s recent diplomatic visit to Washington, during which he held multiple meetings with President Trump. However, it remains unclear whether Trump personally shares these criticisms or whether they reflect frustration within his inner circle.

The Prime Minister’s office declined to respond to the report.

Background: Ceasefire Developments in Southern Syria

The American frustration comes as Israel continues monitoring volatile developments in southern Syria, where tensions between Druze communities and pro-regime Sunni tribes, some with jihadist ties, have escalated in recent weeks.

Following a week of brutal clashes, including reports of massacres and pogroms carried out by Bedouin militias against Druze civilians, the tribes, reportedly aligned with Syrian regime forces and jihadist leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani, have announced a withdrawal from key Druze villages.

According to reports, the Syrian regime deployed forces to the region, with Israeli approval, to restore order on Mount Druze. The Druze, in turn, claimed they had repelled the tribal militias after intense fighting.

In a joint statement, the pro-regime Sunni militias said:

“All fighters have been withdrawn from Sweida, in accordance with the ceasefire. Any violation will be met with a harsh response.”

U.S. Response

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the atrocities taking place in Syria and called out the Al-Julani regime and its proxies:

“The United States is deeply concerned about the horrifying and dangerous developments. Rape and slaughter of innocent civilians are still occurring and must end immediately.”

He added:

“If the authorities in Damascus wish to preserve any chance for a unified, inclusive, and peaceful Syria, free from ISIS and Iranian control, they must use their security forces to end this catastrophe and bring all perpetrators to justice, including those within their own ranks. The fighting between Druze and Bedouin factions must stop now.”
