When Power Collapses, Blame Begins

Catholic Nationalism: It’s Not About God - It’s About the Jews

As Catholic political experiments collapse across the West, a familiar pattern re-emerges: projecting failure onto the Jewish people, the State of Israel, and the values they represent.

Catholic political engagement in America has struggled to produce lasting or coherent results. On the left, the Kennedys, once heirs to a promise of reform, collapsed under the weight of the very establishment they sought to transform. The Biden–Pelosi era has done little to halt the long coming moral and institutional decay of the Democratic Party. On the right, figures like Pat Buchanan, despite moments of intellectual rigor, flirted with a fusion of church and state, casting a reactionary shadow over both conservative and libertarian politics.

All the while as corruption remained a defining feature of small-town, Scranton-style politics. But perhaps the most enduring legacy, and most likely uneasy to speak of, has not been one of policy, but of demographics: more than a few faith-oriented and political leaders have championed immigration not chiefly as a humanitarian imperative, but as a strategic effort to expand cultural and political influence.

Unless one counts bigger government, bloated bureaucracy, mass migration (Kennedy act), and ineffective economic policy as success, it's hard to identify any lasting contribution of value.

This is not to deny that individual Catholics, like members of any faith tradition in America, have made immense contributions to industry, science, art, culture, music, and literature. But as a political force, Catholicism has never succeeded, and likely never will, in offering the kind of enduring civic foundation laid by the Anglo-Protestant thinkers and statesmen who shaped the American republic.

If we wish to ask whether the Jewish-American political condition offered a clear alternative. I’d be the first to admit that many of the country’s most troubling political ideas and trends have originated with Jewish thinkers and politicians - on both the left and the right. But unlike the stream of Neo-traditional Catholics swarming the American right these days, Jews have also had a successful and different ticket to offer. Their central political experiment of the 20th century - the State of Israel - is perhaps America's most vital global ally.

It stands on its own as a capitalist liberal democracy. And this, along with the broad mobilization of American Jewry and Israel’s strategic value in the Middle East, is exactly what drives zealots like Candace Owens, Jack Posobiec, Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, and many others, mad, especially when they know very well, that not only in the USA, but also in Europe, Catholic political experiments throughout the 20th century failed catastrophically - in Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, and nearly every other Catholic-majority country that slid into a backward socialist-antisemitic dictatorship.

And ever since, one cannot say the EU is any different with its centralized feudal style socialist structure…

In light of these spectacular failures, the sight of a thriving, independent Jewish state, and an American Jewish community that’s 90% united behind this American ally, the direct contradiction to every interpretive political possibility within Catholic doctrine, cannot become any more painful.

And this, among other things, is a deep motivator for the Un American hatred for Israel coming from the likes of Funetes, Owens and their ilk.

When the State of Israel was established, the Vatican took decades to even recognize Israel as a state (1993) - officially.

Israel’s very existence contradicted one of the core tenets of Catholic doctrine: that since we cannot physically see Jesus the Messiah in the flesh, performing miracles or validating his divine credit, the least we must have, Augustinian speaking, is use the image of the humiliated Jew as an ontological anchor for the truth of the faith.

If the sacrificial victim cannot be proven to be divine, at least let the one who supposedly “sacrificed” him can live as a wandering devil, debased and broken.

Add to this the fact that socialism, though its psychological roots can be traced in large to a number of prominent Jews and their successors who, often out of personal psychological distress, sought to erase their Jewish identity by collapsing all religious distinctions into economic universalism - is in fact a secular imitation of Catholicism , whether in symbols, language, the sanctification of blood, eschatological redemption, class dogma, or feudal-fascist social structure under one truth, which mirrors Catholicism at every single level.

And this is something traditional Catholics themselves are reluctant to admit. Hence they blame "The Jews" for.

The fact is that the Catholic monarchy is the very prototype of the socialist-class superstructure (post-revolution), just devoid of a god, where the state becomes the collective body.

Yet, it’s the Jews being blamed that secularized Catholicism existed in literally every single modern catholic state in the world in the form of a socialist dictatorship. Now go and name me one single protestant socialist-dictator, I am waiting. I know - Trump!

But yes, socialism is the fault of the Jews not of a civilizational failure to implement Anglo-protestant classical liberalism.

So instead of confronting the fact that the defective recipe originated from their own faith tradition, they prefer to shift the blame onto Jews, speaking of a supposed Jewish conspiracy toward tikkun olam (repairing the world) as the source of socialism and the other societal cultural ills which derives from it.

This israel-jewish obsession is a psychological defense mechanism, preventing Neo-catholics to do what they do best, but never seem too – confess.

This archytipcal ecumanic mindset, being so blame-centered, yet driven to this negative emotion and state of mind by so little actual substance (!), will always morph, via the force of collective suppression into some form of bizarre tasteless clumsy projection - be it in a religious, traditional, or secular setting. And yes, this includes the political and economic failure of Catholicism to adapt in the modern world. A failure that was already apparent in the days of the Reformation and thirty year war.

Aside from imperial France, which held global power for about 250 years (most of which were done as a radical secular state), one may argue that the current rise of antisemitic Christian nationalism - now spreading like wildfire across America - brings us back to the one unshakable truth about Political-Catholicism: it is the resounding failure of Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, and Antisemitism. It has no goods. It artificially manufactured demand. and it supplies very little. and it blames the Jews or Israel for all of the above.

A full deck of bluffs rehashed, leading to nowhere, other than blaming the other, for your own incapabilities, is it not just better to become an honest puritan?
