The Left Won’t Lift a Finger to Save Obama From Prison
Obama was the one who breathed communism and socialism into the Democratic Party. Now, after using the secret police to try to bring down Trump, he’s about to learn an important lesson in communism: the revolution never saves its own leaders.

Barack Obama did everything he could to undermine President Donald Trump. The revelations have come to light, and there is little doubt that he will eventually have to answer for this treacherous conspiracy. But the deeper truth is this: today’s Obama is not the Obama of old. His Democratic Party has drifted far beyond even his most extreme Marxist aspirations that he himself once helped usher into the party’s ideological bloodstream.
Now, Obama finds himself facing a classic symptom of leftist revolutions: he is the father—perhaps even the patriarch - of a revolution that has no qualms about discarding its founding figures.
No one is taking to the streets for him.
If Derek Chauvin, the police officer convicted in the death of George Floyd, were to be released, we’d likely see mass protests erupt overnight.
But for Obama? Highly unlikely.
In the end, he didn’t really do anything for Black people, and they know it - and for White people, his charisma now seems hollow and somewhat theatrical compared to much "harsher struggles" that need "attention".
Should Obama be arrested, as he would be, were the Trump administration to follow Obama's own repeated mantra that “no one is above the law”, it’s hard to imagine today’s dormant Democratic Party rallying in his defense. His downfall simply doesn’t serve their interests. It doesn’t inspire empathy, nor does it motivate turnout. It isn’t a compelling cause for today’s Democrats. Not only because he’s far from innocent (just as Trump is far from guilty, despite the efforts of both Biden and Obama to imprison him), but because the gap between the new radical left and the old Obama establishment is too wide to bridge.
Democratic strategists understand that in order to mobilize voters, they need something far more provocative than the questionable legacy of a former president.
And yet, the American left has little precedent for holding its own accountable. Harvey Weinstein, after all, was not a politician. Leftist politicians usually skate free. If Obama is indeed brought to justice, it would set a remarkable precedent - one that would redefine the boundaries of accountability on the left.
The man who, as a radical leftist with communist, anti-imperialist, and Islamist leanings, tried to take away our freedom and destroy American democracy - may now lose his own freedom.
Ironically, while streets may fill with protestors for causes like Palestine, another battle Obama championed, there may be no such outcry for him. Instead, he may end up rotting in the very prison he once hoped to send his successor to.
