U.S. President Donald Trump warned in an interview with the conservative outlet Daily Caller that Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza is damaging its standing, especially in Washington. “Israel will have to end this war. They may be winning militarily, but they are losing the public relations war, and that’s hurting them, particularly in Congress,” he said.

Trump reflected on what he described as Israel’s past dominance in U.S. politics, noting that 15–20 years ago “Israel had the strongest lobby Congress ever saw,” but that power has waned. “There was a time when you couldn’t say a bad word about Israel if you wanted to be a politician. Now you have Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and all these crazy people, they changed everything. Once Israel had total control in Congress, now it doesn’t. I’m a little surprised to see that,” he remarked.

He stressed that many in the U.S. seem to have “forgotten October 7,” calling it a horrific day comparable to the darkest moments of Jewish history. “I saw the pictures. It was really bad. And there are people who even deny it happened, just like they deny the Holocaust.”

The comments came after senior White House officials clarified that Trump wants the Gaza war concluded, with discussions reportedly covering humanitarian aid, the hostage crisis, and plans for the “day after.” According to sources, the administration has been signaling that Israel’s timeline must shorten, even if it moves ahead with military plans in Gaza City.

Meanwhile, in Israel, hostage families are preparing a demonstration outside the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. They intend to issue a direct appeal to Trump to “make history by brokering a U.S.-sponsored deal to bring the hostages home and end the war.”

As part of their protest, families will stage a symbolic performance featuring a large table displaying a “hostage release agreement” and a mock Nobel Peace Prize, underscoring what they describe as a historic opportunity for peace and regional stability.
