Haredi man tours Iran before war, captures rare Jewish community moments | WATCH
Before conflict erupted, a Haredi traveler documented markets and synagogues with a regime-assigned guide.
Shortly before the outbreak of war with Iran (Operation Rising Lion), a young Haredi man from New York embarked on a rare and daring journey to visit Jewish communities within the country. Traveling under close supervision, the American visitor was accompanied by a local guide assigned by the Iranian regime, who escorted him through Tehran’s bustling markets and other cities with Jewish populations.
Despite the tense atmosphere, the young man managed to document his experiences, capturing vivid scenes of daily life, religious practices, and the complex realities faced by Iranian Jews living under a regime openly hostile to Israel.
One striking moment recorded during his trip was a train ride where the traveler and his guide were surrounded by conflicting signals: as the songs “Mi Sheberach”, a prayer for the welfare of IDF soldiers, and “Hatikvah,” Israel’s national anthem, quietly played, they passed a threatening sign warning of Israel’s destruction.
The young man left Iran just before hostilities escalated into war, choosing to keep his identity confidential due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions.
