Calla Walsh calls for Death to America | WATCH
American activist Calla Walsh sparked outrage after chanting “Death to America” during a speech in Tehran, aligning herself with Iran’s “Axis of Resistance.” The 20-year-old, previously jailed for anti-Israel vandalism, continues to draw criticism for her provocative rhetoric and ties to extremist groups.

Calla Walsh, a 20-year-old Boston-based activist and co-founder of Palestine Action US, ignited controversy after delivering a speech at a martyr memorial ceremony in Tehran yesterday where she declared, “Glory to all the martyrs, glory to the axis of resistance. May we see victory within our lifetimes. Death to America!”
The remarks have drawn sharp criticism for their inflammatory rhetoric.
Walsh, a self-described communist and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, has a history of provocative activism, particularly against U.S. and Israeli policies. The speech aligns with Walsh’s vocal support for the “Axis of Resistance,” a term used to describe Iran-aligned groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
In a June 2025 X post, she wrote, “Long live the Axis of Resistance, may US-Zionist imperialism be wiped off the face of this earth,” and mourned the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who orchestrated the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
Her Tehran appearance follows a pattern of anti-American and anti-Israel activism, including her November 2023 arrest for vandalizing an Elbit Systems facility in Merrimack, New Hampshire, where she faced charges of riot, sabotage, and criminal mischief. Walsh was sentenced to 60 days in jail with a 24-month suspended term, as reported by NH Journal on November 15, 2024.
Walsh’s remarks have been condemned as reckless, with critics like Rep. Jake Auchincloss previously calling her actions, including her involvement in the Boston Mapping Project targeting Jewish institutions, “chilling” for tapping into “anti-Semitic tropes.”
