Quite the Trip: Returned from Dubai with Diamonds and was Arrested
A passenger who returned from Dubai was arrested as she hid diamonds and gems on her body and tried to evade paying tax. Customs investigations suspect that she is a smuggler who has carried out this type of smuggling in the past.

Last night, a female passenger was caught in the passenger hall in Israel when she tried to enter the country with bags of stones that were supposed to be diamonds and gemstones weighing 210 grams. The stones were hidden on the body of the passenger, who returned from Dubai and tried to enter the country on the green route, intended for returning travelers who do not have taxable goods to declare.
After being detained by the 747 police unit responsible for the Ben Gurion Airport area, the suspect was sent to be checked by the customs inspectors of the passenger hall. During the examination, the bags of stones that were hidden on her body were discovered.
From the investigation, which is being conducted by the Jerusalem Customs and VAT Investigations at the Tax Authority, it is suspected that the suspect acted as a smuggler and that she had carried out this type of smuggling in the past.
