On Monday, the Jewish Council of Australia, which calls itself "a diverse coalition of Jewish academics, lawyers, writers, and teachers" dedicated to combating "the rise in neo-Nazi activities, fascism, and far-right extremism," announced its support for anti-Israel student protesters who are facing disciplinary actions at their universities.

The Council's statement read, "The Jewish Council of Australia is concerned that students across Australia, including at Deakin University, Melbourne University, Monash University, and La Trobe University, have been sent misconduct notices for their involvement in anti-war protests."

They also claimed that Israel is employing "starvation as a weapon of war," committing "war crimes," and affirmed that students "are right to peacefully protest these mounting atrocities."
