After Two Postponements, PM Netanyahu's Son and Fiancée End Their Engagement
The son of the Prime Minister and his fiancée have broken up after their wedding was twice delayed due to military operations, a move that comes amidst immense public scrutiny and political protest.

Avner Netanyahu, the youngest son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his fiancée Amit Yardni have ended their engagement, according to sources close to the couple. The decision to part ways comes after the couple was forced to postpone their highly anticipated wedding on two separate occasions due to escalating security events.
The couple, who began dating in May 2022 and became engaged in July 2024, had originally planned to marry in November 2024. However, that date was postponed due to the war with Lebanon and the constant rocket fire. A new date was set for June 16, but just three days before the ceremony, the wedding was delayed again following the Israeli attack on Iran and the subsequent operational guidelines from the Home Front Command. Sources say the decision to call off the wedding for good came after a series of disputes between the couple, with one source close to Yardni stating that Avraham decided to "take a break" to reflect on what was right for him.
The wedding had become a source of national attention and political controversy. Protesters against Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government had planned to demonstrate outside the event, a protest they dubbed "No Hostages - No Wedding," adding to the intense public scrutiny. Public criticism also arose over the appropriateness of holding a lavish celebration during wartime.
Avner and Amit's relationship had been closely followed since it began. In April 2025, they celebrated with a traditional Henna ceremony, an event that provided rare photos of the Prime Minister and his wife, Sara, alongside the couple. Amit Yardni, who has a background as a team leader at the cybersecurity giant Check Point and a former contestant on the reality TV show "Ninja Israel," has largely avoided the public eye, a stark contrast to Avner's brother, Yair. This is also the second time Avner has called off an engagement.
