Progressive Site's Writer Paid Etsy Witches to 'Curse' Charlie Kirk - He was Murdered 48 Hours Later
A progressive website is under intense scrutiny after a report revealed it published an article detailing how a writer paid witches to "curse" Charlie Kirk just 48 hours before his assassination.

A major controversy has erupted in the United States following the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. A shocking detail has emerged: just 48 hours before his assassination, the progressive feminist website Jezebel published an article in which one of its writers paid witches on the platform Etsy to cast curses on Kirk.
The article, titled "I Paid Witches on Etsy to Curse Charlie Kirk," described the writer's actions without reservation. "Is it moral to curse a person I have never met? Probably not," she wrote, immediately adding a justification: "But is it immoral to let him continue to speak? Yes. So here we are, in the gray area ... I want to make it clear, I’m not calling on dark forces to cause him harm. I just want him to wake up every morning with an inexplicable zit. I want his podcast microphone to malfunction every time he hits record… To ruin his day with the collective feminist power of the Etsy coven would be my life’s greatest joy,” the article reads. To ruin his day with the collective feminist power of the Etsy community will be the greatest joy of my life."
The text, which the Israeli news report frames as oscillating between cynicism and burning hatred, is cited as a stark illustration of the "depth of the madness" gripping parts of the radical left, where a figure like Kirk, a conservative, patriot, and supporter of Israel, is seen as an enemy to be silenced at any cost.
Two days after the article's publication, the nightmare became a reality when Kirk was shot and killed by an assassin, likely a sniper. Following the assassination and fierce public criticism, *Jezebel* quickly added an editor’s note to the original article. The note stated that the site "unequivocally condemns political violence," and that the article's purpose was "cultural criticism," not a call for harm. "We do not support or encourage political violence of any kind," the note emphasized.
However, for many, the belated disavowal seems hypocritical and hollow. The shocking incident has reignited the debate over how violent discourse and the dehumanization of political opponents in the progressive media might be paving the way for acts of terror.
Meanwhile, the FBI continues its manhunt for the assassin. The shooter is suspected of being a sniper dressed in black who opened fire from a nearby rooftop. Two suspects arrested yesterday have since been released, and the search continues.
