The widowed wife of the Chabad emissary to the United Arab Emirates, Rabbi Zvi Kogan z"l, who was murdered last November, embraced her eldest daughter last night (between Wednesday and Thursday).

One of the family's acquaintances says: "One thing comforts us, as it is written that if a male child is born, it is a good sign for the family of the deceased, and as our Sages said in the Talmud Yerushalmi Mo'ed Katan, that during the entire year of mourning, the attribute of justice is stretched against that family. And if a male son is born in the same family, the whole family is healed, and some halachic authorities also bring that this applies to a daughter and to any joy in the family."

The Chabad emissary to the United Arab Emirates, Rabbi Zvi Kogan, who went missing for a few days after not contacting his family, was murdered in cold blood at the age of 28.

Rabbi Kogan's body was found about an hour and a half away from Dubai, in the area where his car was found. He left behind his parents, his family, his brothers and sisters and his wife Tachi, who serves as a kindergarten teacher in Chabad institutions in the UAE.

Last month, The United Arab Emirates (UAE) officially confirmed that the three men responsible for the murder of the Rabbi will face the death penalty. The individuals, all Uzbek nationals, were found guilty of the murder. In addition to the three murderers, a co-conspirator who assisted in the attack has been sentenced to life in prison and will be deported from the country.

The Rabbi was kidnapped and murdered by three Uzbek men—Olimboy Tohirovich, 28, Makhmudjon Abdurakhim, 28, and Azizbek Kamilovich, 33.
