The Watermelon Scam You Need to Know About
When the summer heat rises, shade and watermelon are the ultimate comfort zone. But as demand peaks, so does deception – and one video exposes the juicy scam you never saw coming.
Summer is in full swing, and markets are overflowing with watermelons, all vying for a spot in your shopping cart. Everyone’s chasing that perfect red, sweet melon. But in peak season, the scammers don’t rest either.
A video circulating on social media shows a Turkish vendor slicing open a watermelon and being visibly disappointed with the pale interior. Then, he pulls out a beet and begins rubbing it directly onto the fruit’s flesh. Within seconds, the watermelon turns a deep, tempting red.
“Is this AI, fruit edition?” one viewer joked. Others wondered: is it just a cosmetic touch-up – or is the taste a total fake too?
