The IDF released this statement a short time ago today (Wednesday):

"A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel.

"The public is requested to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.

"At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.

"The defense is not hermetic, therefore, it is essential to continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command."

Two missiles were fired and intercepted.

Magen David Adom reports no casualties reported following the missile salvo.

The IDF Spokesperson just released this statement:

"Following the situational assessment, the Home Front Command published that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in several areas across the country. The public is requested to continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command."

Leading Israeli journalist Doron Kadosh writes," An Israeli security official told me [that] The Iranian missile launched in the latest attack on Gush Dan was exceptional in its type, in terms of its weight and the amount of explosives it carried, which was larger than usual. This is a missile that Iran has previously launched at Israel, but in small quantities. We succeeded in intercepting it.

One of the possibilities being examined is that this was a missile called Khurramshahr, a new model of which Iran unveiled about two years ago, claiming it can carry one and a half tons of explosives."
