A new nationwide campaign has been launched by Israel's National Public Diplomacy Directorate in cooperation with the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) to raise public awareness about the growing phenomenon of Iranian recruitment of Israeli citizens. The campaign aims to show how easily one can be drawn into cooperation, often motivated by money, and to highlight the severe consequences of aiding the enemy in times of war.

The decision to launch the campaign follows a sharp increase in such incidents over the past year. The Shin Bet and Israeli police have uncovered more than 25 cases of Israeli citizens being recruited by Iran to carry out various missions. As a result, over 35 indictments have been filed, many of them for serious offenses.

Titled "Easy Money, Heavy Price," the campaign serves two main purposes. The first is to raise awareness of how quickly someone can fall into collaboration, often without fully realizing the consequences. The second is to stress the heavy legal and personal costs of such actions. Under Israeli law, these offenses can carry sentences of up to 15 years in prison.

This campaign is considered of national importance, particularly in the wake of Operation Rising Lion, after which Iran is expected to intensify its efforts to recruit individuals and carry out operations inside Judea and Samaria and other areas of Israel.
