During a recent London performance, Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin invited two Israeli fans, Avia and Tal, onto the stage, sparking an unusual moment of attention when he realized their nationality.

“Welcome, what are your names? Avia and Tal? Where are you from today?” Martin asked. “From Israel? Wow, okay. I’m very grateful you’re here. I treat you as human beings equal on this planet,” he added. “Thank you for being here, and even though it’s controversial, I also want to bless people in the audience from Palestine.”

Martin’s remarks follow a pattern of addressing political symbolism at his shows. In July, he responded to an Israeli flag raised by fans, saying:

“Yesterday we had a Palestine flag, today an Israel flag. We accept everyone. Thank you, no matter the religion or nationality. All I see is a group of people sharing this space peacefully, showing that love can overcome everything.”

He also praised Palestinian fans waving their flag, saying,

“I’m so happy to see the Palestine flag. We love people from everywhere, you’re always welcome here, and I’m glad to see people from Palestine.”

The remarks underscore Martin’s ongoing effort to promote inclusivity, even as political tensions around Israel and Palestine remain highly sensitive topics for audiences worldwide.
