Israeli Protesters Ejected at Kneecap Concert in France
Israeli protesters were ejected from Rock en Seine festival during Irish rap group Kneecap's performance amid tensions over the band's pro-Palestinian stance and controversial statements.

Supporters of Israel staged a protest at the Rock en Seine festival on Sunday against Irish rap group Kneecap, known for their pro-Palestinian stance and past controversial statements in support of Hamas and Hezbollah. The protesters, who waved anti-band flags and blew whistles to disrupt the performance, were quickly removed from the venue by security personnel.
Footage shared by the band on Instagram shows the protesters being escorted out while Kneecap led the audience in chants of “Free, Free Palestine.” One member addressed the crowd, stating:
“We are not like them, we are not like Israel. We are not here to start fights. Everything is love, everything is support for Palestine.”
Band member Mo Chara, previously accused of supporting terrorism, added:
“I know we’re angry and frustrated, but don’t let these people feel it. We are here for love, enjoyment, and support.”
Kneecap, who have long advocated for Irish independence and expressed pro-Palestinian views, made headlines last year during their Coachella performance with a backdrop reading: “F** Israel, Free Palestine.” Their performances have been canceled in multiple countries due to security concerns and political pressure, including Hungary, where authorities barred their entry, canceling their appearance at the Sziget Festival.
Despite the controversy, the French festival defended the band’s right to perform and express their opinions, even at the cost of partial festival funding. Kneecap maintains that past videos showing support for Hamas and Hezbollah were taken out of context and were intended as a theatrical distraction rather than a political endorsement.
