After the runaway success of their joint single “Vayehi Or”, rapper Ravid Plotnik and Israeli reggae-pop band Hatikva 6 are back with a new track, “Eize Mazal” (“What a Luck”). The song, born out of a long creative process in their shared studio, explores the randomness of life, the forces of nature, and the mysterious connections between people.

Their previous collaboration dominated Israel’s airwaves, holding the No. 1 spot on ACUM and Media Forest charts for a full month. “Eize Mazal” is the second single from Hatikva 6’s upcoming 10th album, “Vayehi Or”, set for release this summer.

The story behind the song

According to frontman Omri Glikman, the chorus for “Eize Mazal” was written long ago, but the band struggled to find the right words to capture the interplay between life’s forces and love.

“The song went through several versions and transformations before reaching its final form,” Glikman said.

The breakthrough came when Plotnik joined the writing sessions. Together, they crafted lyrics that weave chance encounters, destiny, and human connection into a meditation on life’s unpredictability.

“Some things just happen by themselves,” Glikman added. “Some are written in advance, some are pure coincidence, and sometimes, it’s just luck.”

A new chapter for Hatikva 6

The album “Vayehi Or” marks a milestone for the veteran band, their 10th studio release, and the first time they’ve entrusted Ravid Plotnik with full artistic direction. The collaboration grew out of a long-standing friendship and evolved into an immersive joint creative journey.

The record promises to tackle weighty themes such as identity, belonging, and the role of music in times of conflict, while also preserving the band’s signature blend of joy, humor, and uplifting energy.
