Fans hoping to see Rihanna return to the stage this summer will have to keep waiting yet again.

According to new reports in The Sun, sources close to the superstar say she is no longer expected to perform before 2026. The information comes despite widespread rumors earlier this year that she would make her long-awaited live comeback with a series of shows in London this summer. A show which would possibly include an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.

“Rihanna and her team are confident they can make the shows happen next year,” the source told The Sun, citing ongoing planning behind the scenes. If the reports hold true, 2026 will mark ten years since the release of Anti, her last studio album, which dropped in 2016.

Since then, the Grammy-winning artist has shifted her focus away from music, instead building her Fenty beauty empire and starting a family with rapper A$AP Rocky. While fans have repeatedly speculated about her musical comeback, no official announcement has been made, either for a new album or a concert tour.

In an interview last year, Rihanna addressed the prolonged creative process, revealing that despite spending time in the studio over the past eight years, she hadn’t felt fully inspired.

“I was in the studio all these years, but it didn’t hit me. I was searching for it,” she said. “I went through phases: ‘this is the album,’ then ‘no, this one is.’ I know it’s not going to be what anyone expects,” she added. “It’s not going to be commercial or radio-friendly or easy to digest. It’s going to be where my art is right now. I finally cracked it, sis!”

Still, after so many delays and unmet expectations, fans remain skeptical.

Until an official announcement is made, Rihanna’s return, much like her next album, remains a promise just out of reach.
