He Was Supposed to Turn 6 Today: Family of Ariel Bibas z”l Asks Public to Honor His Memory
The family of Ariel Bibas, killed by Hamas terrorists in Gaza, marks what would have been his 6th birthday by calling for acts of kindness and candle-lighting in his memory.

On what would have been Ariel Bibas’s sixth birthday, the family of the young Israeli boy -kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Gaza - issued a heartfelt request: light a candle in his memory or perform a simple act of kindness to bring a smile to someone’s face.
“A message, a hug, a helping hand - anything to spread some goodness,” the family shared in a public statement, marking the painful date without their son.
Ariel z”l was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, along with his baby brother Kfir and their mother Shiri. All three were murdered shortly after the kidnapping. Their bodies were returned to Israel in the most recent hostage deal. The father, Yarden, survived and was later released from captivity.
Just two months ago, Israel confirmed the elimination of Asaad Abu Sharia, the senior terrorist responsible for the abduction and murder of the Bibas family. Abu Sharia, head of the Katayeb al-Mujahideen terror group, led the massacre in Nir Oz and was directly involved in multiple kidnappings and killings of both Israelis and foreign nationals.
As the Bibas family mourns a birthday that will never be, they ask Israelis and supporters around the world to keep Ariel’s light alive- with love, remembrance, and simple human kindness.
