BUSTED: Police seize weapons and gear from East Jerusalem resident

The Israel Police arrested an East Jerusalem resident after finding both arms and Hamas insignia in his apartment.

The Israel Police reports that it has apprehended an East Jerusalem resident today (Monday) following the discovery of weapons and Hamas insignia in their apartment.

Here is the full statement:

"In recent hours, officers from the Oz police station in the Jerusalem district, along with Border Police fighters and the Jerusalem Border Police K-9 unit, conducted a search at the home of a suspect in his 20s, in the Sur Baher neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

"During the search, police seized items identified with the terrorist organization 'Hamas' in the suspect's home, including a flag and a scarf. Additionally, the officers seized two pistols of the 'Glock' and 'Star' types, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, combat equipment, M16 rifle parts, and magazines.

"The suspect was arrested by the police and transferred for questioning at the police station. The investigation continues.

"Israel Police will continue to act decisively against those who possess illegal weapons, which are often used in criminal or security offenses, and will bring them to justice."
