Elderly Man Killed After Empty Bus Slams Into His Car
Israel's roads claimed another life this morning.

A heartbreaking crash took the life of a 77-year-old man on Route 581 near Megal Junction in Israel’s northern Sharon region. Around 7:30 AM, an empty bus smashed into his car, leaving the front end a mangled wreck.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics arrived quickly but found the driver trapped, unresponsive, with no pulse or breathing, and severe injuries. Despite their efforts to free him and provide care, he couldn’t be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, slightly hurt, was treated on the spot.
MDA paramedic Mark Podrov and emergency medic Olfat Abu Gweid called the crash “devastating,” pointing out the car’s heavily damaged front. ZAKA volunteers from Netanya, led by Shai Romano, helped traffic investigators, ensuring the deceased was treated with respect and gathering evidence. The man’s body was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination.
