Sergeant Moshe Nissim Frech was a 20-year-old Israeli soldier from Jerusalem who served in the Netzah Yehuda Battalion (97th) of the Kfir Brigade.

He was killed in action on July 7, 2025, during a military operation in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip, when an explosive device detonated, targeting Israeli infantry troops. This incident also claimed the lives of four other soldiers and wounded 14 others, with two in critical condition.

Frech was laid to rest on July 8, 2025, at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem. His father, Yaakov, eulogized him, describing Moshe as a gift and a friend who walked a path of holiness. His uncle, Zecharia, and mother, Yehudit, also expressed their grief, highlighting his righteous character.

Yehudit said, "Today is my birthday We can’t celebrate it anymore.I’m not angry at you Hakodesh Baruch Hu, I just believe that everything is for the good. At the moment I don’t know how I will survive this test . But I know that whoever gets a test has the strength to survive it."

The Netzah Yehuda Battalion, primarily composed of Haredi soldiers, has been noted for its dedication despite some members facing challenges with family support for their service.
