Israeli Government Grants Free Public Transit to Thousands Affected by Iran War
Thousands of Israelis displaced by missile strikes will receive unlimited free travel on buses and trains, as part of a nationwide relief initiative led by the Ministry of Transportation

Israel’s Ministry of Transportation announced today that thousands of citizens whose homes were damaged during the recent war with Iran will receive free access to public transportation across the country until further notice.
The new benefit, approved by Transportation Minister Miri Regev, is aimed at easing the burden on residents displaced by missile attacks. Eligible individuals will be able to travel free of charge on all bus and train lines nationwide, using their Rav-Kav transit cards.
“This is about ensuring freedom of movement for those whose lives have been upended,” said a ministry official. “The benefit allows access to work, education, and essential services while they transition to temporary housing.”
The initiative is part of a broader government support package for citizens affected by Operation Rising Lion. A similar public transit benefit was previously granted to evacuees from northern and southern Israel following attacks from Hezbollah and Hamas.
In addition, the government has extended the same travel benefits to the families of hostages and returnees.
Transportation Minister Miri Regev stated, “Since October 7, we have stood by the people of Israel during every crisis. This step continues our mission to ease their transition and ensure they have access to transportation, safety, and dignity during this difficult time.”
