The details of the Hamas proposal for a partial hostage deal were published today (Monday) in the Arab media. They are as follows:

"There will be a withdrawal (reference to the IDF) to a depth of one kilometer in the northern Gaza Strip area and eastward, except for Shejaiya and Beit Lahia.

"In exchange for the 10 living prisoners (Hamas term for hostages), 140 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and 60 prisoners sentenced to more than 15 years will be released.

"With the start of the ceasefire, aid will enter according to the framework of the previous ceasefire in January.

"The aid will include fuel, water, electricity, rehabilitation of hospitals, rehabilitation of bakeries, and bringing in debris removal equipment.

"The Rafah crossing will open in the same manner as it was during the previous ceasefire.

"In exchange for each body of an Israeli prisoner, Israel will return 10 bodies of Palestinians."

Egypt released a public statement explaining their position and the reasons for their pressure on Hamas to accept a new hostage deal:

"Egyptian President Al-Sisi today received Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The meeting emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to reach an agreement that will ensure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of Egyptian, Qatari and American efforts to reach an agreement that will enable the entry of humanitarian aid urgently and without obstacles.

"President Al-Sisi and the Qatari Prime Minister emphasized the need to reach a Gaza ceasefire agreement that will lead to the release of hostages and prisoners. They emphasized the absolute rejection of re-occupation of the Gaza Strip and of any attempt to expel Palestinians from their land.

"It was also reported that President Al-Sisi emphasized during his meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister the need 'to immediately begin the process of rehabilitating the Gaza Strip after the ceasefire.'"
