Hamas’s official media channels have released statements condemning recent Jewish worship activities on the Temple Mount, describing them as a “desecration” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

In a message shared on Hamas’s Telegram channel, the group emphasized that, according to Islamic belief, the entire Temple Mount is considered part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. As such, any Jewish religious activity on the site - particularly sacrificial offerings - is viewed as a severe violation of its sanctity.

The message also referenced past Jewish religious practices conducted on the site, including the sounding of the shofar on Rosh Hashanah, the waving of the four species during Sukkot, kneeling, prostration, and the bringing of religious objects into the compound. Hamas claimed these actions are part of a broader, calculated effort to alter the status quo on the Temple Mount.

According to Hamas, even a symbolic sacrifice would effectively redefine the area as a Jewish Temple, conceptually transforming Al-Aqsa into the Third Temple. The group warned that such actions are seen as early steps toward dividing the compound into separate areas for Jewish and Muslim worship - similar to the current division at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron - and eventually lead to construction of the Third Temple itself (Amen, may that be His will!)
