Hamas Congratulates Macron's Recognition of Palestine
The Hamas terrorist movement openly welcomed French President Macron's decision to recognize a Palestinian state in September.

The Hamas terrorist group released a statement today (Thursday) congratulating French President Macron for announcing his decision to recognize a state of Palestine in September at the United Nations:
"The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomes the declaration by French President Emmanuel Macron about his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the UN General Assembly gathering next September. Hamas sees this as a positive step in the right direction toward achieving justice for our oppressed Palestinian people and support for their legitimate right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on all its occupied territories, with Jerusalem as its capital.
"We in Hamas view this important French position as a political development that reflects the growing international belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause and the failure of the occupation to distort the facts or block the will of free peoples.
"We call on all countries of the world, especially European countries and those that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine, to follow France's lead and fully recognize the national rights of our people, foremost among them the right of return, self-determination and the establishment of a completely sovereign and independent state on their land, with Jerusalem as its capital.
"We also emphasize that such international steps represent political and moral pressure on the Zionist occupation, which continues its crimes, aggression and war of genocide and starvation against our people in the Gaza Strip, and its occupation and settlement in the West Bank and Jerusalem."
