Hamas killers get elite treatment in Israeli hospitals - and doctors are furious
Medical ethics meets absurdity as Israeli doctors are forced to provide premium healthcare to imprisoned Hamas terrorists who massacred civilians, while hospitals struggle to treat their victims and veterans.

Senior medical staff have raised alarm over Hamas Nukhba terrorists, imprisoned for their role in the October 7 attacks, receiving regular medical treatment in Israeli hospitals - including for non-life-threatening conditions. Hospital sources say there are currently no clear guidelines for prioritizing or limiting such treatments.
"I faced a case involving a terrorist with a leg injury," Dr. Ilya Chorny, head of anesthesiology at Sharon Hospital, told Israel Hayom. "We had two options: amputation or a complex 20-hour surgery to reconstruct blood vessels, nerves, and bones. While either choice would keep him alive, we're providing 'premium' care - similar to when we discovered Sinwar's malignant brain tumor. Instead of basic chemotherapy, we performed intricate surgery to remove the tumor completely."

Chorny emphasized that these aren't isolated incidents but represent a broader pattern within the healthcare system.
The issue has drawn political attention, with Knesset Member Yulia Malinovsky (Yisrael Beiteinu) calling for an urgent parliamentary debate. "It's an untenable situation," she said. "These militants are being treated in public hospitals alongside Israeli citizens, creating security concerns for medical staff and patients alike. It strains our public health system at the expense of Israeli citizens."
Malinovsky highlighted the emotional toll on hospital staff and patients: "Consider having a terrorist in one room while their victim receives treatment next door." She has requested an emergency discussion in the National Security Committee and invited all 119 fellow Knesset members to support the motion.
