The IDF Military Prosecution is set to file severe indictments against three Hamas terrorists for the brutal murder of Tze’ela Gez, 34, and her newborn son, Ravid Chaim, in a May 2025 ambush in Samaria, following a joint investigation by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Judea and Samaria District Central Unit (Yamar) of the Israel Police.

The attack occurred on May 12, when Tze’ela and her husband, Chaim Gez, were driving from Barkan Junction toward Peduel Interchange to reach a delivery room. Hamas gunmen opened fire on their vehicle, killing Tze’ela instantly. Her unborn son, Ravid Chaim, delivered emergently at the scene, succumbed to his injuries later at Beilinson Hospital. The investigation revealed the three suspects’ involvement in four additional terror attacks over the past six months, some causing injuries and property damage across Samaria.

Three days after the attack, security forces arrested the Hamas-affiliated terrorists near Nablus. The primary shooter was killed during an IDF-Shin Bet operation, which also seized the attack weapon, ammunition, camouflage netting, and a green cloth covering used by the cell. The operation disrupted a broader network linked to Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, which has intensified attacks in the West Bank since October 7th.

“Security forces will continue to act resolutely to thwart terrorism and bring to justice any terrorist who harms Israeli citizens,” stated the Shin Bet and police in a joint release. The indictments, expected to include murder and terrorism charges, reflect Israel’s unwavering commitment to combating Hamas’s violence. Social media posts on X expressed outrage, with one user stating, “Hamas’s cruelty knows no bounds, justice for Tze’ela and Ravid!” The case, one of 1,200 reported terrorist incidents in the West Bank in 2025, underscores the ongoing threat to Israeli civilians and the security forces’ relentless pursuit of perpetrators.
