Houthi spokesman Mohammed al-Bukhaiti has denied claims today (Tuesday) that the Iran-backed terrorist group will cease attacks on ships in the Red Sea, stating that U.S. President Trump’s remarks on the matter are inaccurate.

President Trump had previously said that the Houthis had "capitulated" to the United States and would agree to end attacks on the United States and shipping in the Red Sea, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the bombing campaign was always about freedom of navigation.

The American bombing campaign against the Houthis began six weeks ago, with the explicit aim of forcing the Houthis to stop attacking any and all ships in the Red Sea, as well as American targets generally.
